Hello global photographers,
I am very pleased to tell you that 50% of the profits from the sale of the books on this site will be donated to the Japan-based charity, Second Harvest Japan. http://2hj.org/english/about/
Why Second Harvest Japan?
Because food waste is a shame and there are people around who could seriously use that food. And for a guy who can’t throw out unopened ketchup sachets left over from his french fries, the scale of the food waste problem is an embarrassment to our generation in Japan and globally.
I’m not an activist, and I don’t have to be to know that large-scale destruction and pollution of the environment is ugly. I just don’t like it. Meanwhile, there are those in Japan who struggle to properly feed themselves, their children or their elderly parents.
Enter Second Harvest Japan. They collect quality foods before they are disposed and distribute them to those in need. A win-win scenario. So simple!
Patrick, my partner on the Kyoto book is fully onboard and contributing the same 50% of his revenues. This website doesn’t generate a lot of money, but like collecting my ketchup sachets, it’s one small thing we can do. And, if you’ve recently bought a book in this website, then you are helping too. Thank you!
